Being a baby is so fun. All I ever do is smile and laugh these days. I’ve switched out of my waking up once per night routine and now wake up twice a night for milk snacks. Mom and Dad love to feed me in the middle of the night. I’ve been laughing more and more, mostly because Mommy and Daddy are so silly. I have a funny little squeek at the ends of my laughs, which usually Mommy and Daddy laugh, which in turn makes me laugh even more. Sometimes they act like complete nut jobs trying to get me to laugh. When they’re not being so silly though, they’ve been reading to me and letting me play with my toys. Everytime I take a bath with Mommy Daddy keeps on asking her to dunk me but she keeps on being too scared. Then finally she dunked me. It was so fun! It was like I was a baby manatee. I can stand up for long periods of time without even wobbling if I know that Mommy or Daddy is holding me.

It’s been quite a week for me… Mommy had to go back to work and I miss her a lot and she misses me a lot. We play as much as we can in the mornings and evenings and I know we will get to play all weekend! In the meantime, Nanny came over and played with me on Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesday I played with Daddy in the morning and then Elizabeth came over in the afternoon. Elizabeth is a student at University of Portland and she is going to be playing with me a few times a week while Daddy works upstairs. Today Grammy and Pop Pop are here, and I can tell we’re going to have a lot of fun.

In the last week I’ve started talking even more. And I love to stand when someone is there to keep my balance for me. I can stand for a long time. Ask Daddy if you don’t believe me. I’ve started a new routine this week where Mommy brings me into bed with her and Daddy in the morning so I can have breakfast. Then I lay there and Daddy makes the bed around me while Mommy gets ready for work. I do my exercises for about an hour and then I have a little snack and then take a little nap. It makes for a very pleasant morning.

Hi Friends! It’s me, Eli Guthrie Harrah! I haven’t posted for close to two weeks, but never fear, I’m back, and in full force. Let’s see, what’s been happening?… I still love milk, and my tummy is growing so fast that I need more of it at one time now. I’ve gotten into a pretty good routine of going to bed at 8pm and sleeping until nearly 7am with only waking up once or twice in between. I’ve been drooling a ton. Mom and Dad say that is an early sign of me getting teeth. When I get teeth I’m going to eat so much yummy candy! I like to try to stand, but it’s hard to keep balance (I’m guessing because a solid 35% of my weight is in my large head). Speaking of large, I went to the Dr. the other day for my 10 week checkup and he said I was 11 lbs, 15oz, and 23.75 inches long. That’s 50th percentile in weight and 75th percentile in height! I’m growing! On Thursday I met my new friend Natalie Johnstun, who is now 3 weeks old. She is bigger than I was at her age so it really put into perspective just how much I’ve been growing…

In the last week I’ve also played with my friend Ben at his daddy’s graduation party, raced for the cure, celebrated Nanny and Boppo’s birthday, went on a fun shopping trip with Grammy and Pop Pop, met my prospective babysitter, and of course, ate, slept, pooped, and played.

Last weekend I went to Clatskanie and hung out with Nanny and Boppo and Grammy and Pop Pop. It was so much fun. They all love to hold me and play with me and make me smile. They even change my diaper when I have a poop and give me food when I need a snack.

This last week I’ve been playing more and more every day. I smile a lot more too. Smiles and playtime go hand in hand after all. I also love to stand like a big boy when Mommy and Daddy keep my balance for me. And I’m getting really good at holding my big head up.

On Thursday Daddy and Mommy took me to my first Beavers game! Orange is my favorite color! I had fun tailgating with my friend Maggie and then the Beavs won by 39 points. Then on Friday Uncle Nathan and Alison came over to BBQ. We sat outside in the front lawn until way past my bedtime. It was great fun. Grammy came to town and spent a day with me and that was fun too. She gave me a bath and made me so fresh and so clean. Last night I slept in my crib for the first time. It was a little scary, but I’m getting used to it. Bye for now!
